Family Games (Creative Day)

On the 15th of January we had our Creative Day. This time, the theme of the games were "family games". The Children, during the Christmas Holidays, asked their families which playground games they used to play when they were young. The students chose the most creative game and complete a game-sheet in order to share the game with the rest of the class. 

We were able to complete some of the games within our Physical Education classes. This gave the students the opportunity to lead a group of people and gain many leadership skills. 

This was a 3rd successful Creative Day! The Children enjoyed playing their family games, for example Marbles, El Potro, El Bote-Bote, El Bando, El Churro-Media Manga o Manga Entera and many more.

We are looking forward to see what the next edition is about!

2n Creative Day: International Games

Ahir 3 de Desembre, com cada primer dimecres de mes, vam cel·lebrar el segon Creative Day a Turó. Durant tot el dia els nostres alumnes van jugar de forma més creativa en les 3 estones de pati. Aquesta vegada, a part de comptar amb el Playbook de cada classe, vam escollir els International Games (Jocs internacionals) com a tema de Joc.

En les darreres classes d'EF vam treballar jocs de diferents països i els vam penjar un recull d'aquests als passadissos de l'escola. Els alumnes van poder veure com es juguen els alumnes d'altres països sense disposar de grans possibilitats en material esportiu. 

Aprofitant que tenim 3 professors procedents del Regne Unit, vam oferir als nens 3 jocs habituals d'aquest indret. Els jocs van ser els següents:

- English game: Mr. Paul va presentar pels alumnes de 1r, 2n i 3r el joc anomentat British Bulldog . Un joc tradicional de perseguir i enxampar a la resta de companys.

- Netball: Mr. Joe va organitzar un partit de Netball pels alumnes de 5è. Joc semblant al bàsquet però amb algunes particularitats en les regles.

- Cricket: Mr. Tim es va encarregar del Cricket. Un joc amb molta tradició anglesa que els alumnes de 6è van poder gaudir.

- Catch the ball: Mr. Padilla i l'alumne Ricardo Ortea de 4t A van compartir amb els alumnes de 4t el joc Catch the ball. En Ricardo va adaptar les normes del futbol americà per poder ser jugat en un pati escolar. Una iniciativa molt creativa!

4t: Saltem a la Corda

En aquest tema els alumnes de 4t de primària hem saltat a la corda en parella, en grups i individualment.  També hem jugat a jocs i crec que a la gent li ha agradat molt perquè no ho fem sovint.

Ha estat divertit perquè hem vist moltes opcions per jugar amb les cordes. Saltant a la corda o utilitzant-la per a tot tipus de jocs.

Saltar a la corda és també un bon joc de pati que podrem utilitzar en els propers Creative Day!

Creative Day

Sometimes we find kids on the playground who don't know what to play because they have no ball. That's exactly what this new project called "Creative Day" wants to change.

Last November 5th the new PE department project called "Creative Day" started.  From now on, once a month, our students from Primary are going to play more creatively during the playground time. The students from 1st to 6th grade Primary are squeezing their minds to create new games. These can be invented by them or just taken from their experiences in the PE lessons, extracurricular lessons or family and friends. The games have to be “dynamic, cooperative and creative”.

The aim of this project is to improve our students creativity and to add more game ideas in their bag. They will learn how to entertain themselves in changing conditions by using their creativity.

The creativity is one of the most important aspects of human ability. The training of the creative capacity will lead our students to succeed in their academic marks and later on their professional career.
